Hot Water and Ice Water
The habit of drinking hot water in the Chinese has deep historical and cultural roots. Traditional Chinese medicine theories believe that drinking hot water helps promote blood circulation, warm the body, and regulate the stomach and intestines. In addition, in the past, the hygienic conditions were relatively poor, and boiling water could effectively kill germs and ensure the safety of drinking water.

In many other countries, people generally prefer to drink ice water. It has to do with their living environment, eating habits, and cultural traditions. In some hotter climates, ice water can quickly cool off the heat. At the same time, there are many high-calorie, high-protein foods in the Western diet, and ice water can help relieve the heat of the mouth and stomach.

However, with the development of globalization and the increase of cultural exchanges, this difference is gradually narrowing. More and more Chinese are accepting ice water, while some foreigners are also starting to try hot water. Whether it is hot water or ice water, they are just habits formed in different cultural backgrounds, each with its own characteristics and adaptation scenarios.
